SAFETY WITH CINCHING & SADDLING

You would assume the simple act of saddling your horse wouldn’t require a whole lot of thinking, but I’ve seen enough seemingly unbelievable situations that I believe it’s definitely worth investigating. For example, I once saw someone saddling their horse up next to a hitching rail; they threw the cinch over the horse and through the rail without realizing it, and cinched the horse onto the hitching rail!

Now, that’s a pretty obvious – and comedic – example, but you can do a lot of simple things to keep cinching and saddling from turning dangerous.
